Cimicifuga racemosa, Rhz. – SHENG MA
Dosis: 2-8g/Tag
- Menopause
Black cohosh reduced the GCS total score and all GCS subscale scores (vasomotor, psychiatric, physical, and sexual symptoms) during 4 and 8 weeks of treatment.
– Efficacy and safety of Cimicifuga foetida extract on menopausal syndrome in Chinese women.
Cimicifuga foetida extract is effective and safe in the treatment of menopausal syndrome. It is worth extending its use in the treatment of climacteric complaints, especially among those having contradiction for hormone replacement therapy.
This observational study demonstrated that treatment with CR in unselected patients with climacteric complaints under the conditions of daily practice resulted in a significant improvement of menopausal symptoms
In postmenopausal women CR BNO 1055 reduced major climacteric complaints as effectively as conjugated estrogens and significantly more than placebo. The effective compounds in CR are most likely neurotransmitter-mimetic in nature: dopaminergic, noradrenergic, serotoninergic. We conclude that CR extracts at low doses are effective to ameliorate climacteric complaints but are devoid of adverse estrogenic effects.
- PMS
Assessment report on Cimicifuga racemosa (L.) Nutt., rhizoma
In Germany Cimicifuga has been used since 1940 as a natural agent for treating premenstrual, dysmenorrhoeal and menopausal neurovegetative symptoms. Nowadays only menopausal neurovegetative symptoms (such as hot flushes and profuse sweating) are accepted as indications.
- Osteoporose
The preventive effects of Remifemin against bone-loss can rival those of estradiol valerate if treatment duration is adequately extended. In conclusion, Remifemin may demonstrate equivalent effects to estradiol valerate in terms of preventing postmenopausal osteoporosis.

- Polycystisches ovarielles Syndrom
Role of phyto-oestrogens in ovulation induction in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Following treatment, significant favourable changes in LH level and FSH/LH ratio (p=0.007 and 0.06, respectively) were seen in the Klimadynon group. In this group the progesterone level was higher from the first treatment cycle, indicating better ovulation (p=0.0001), and endometrial thickness was greater (p=0.0004). The pregnancy rate was higher in the Klimadynon group but the difference between the groups was not significant (p=0.1)
- Harninkontinenz
– Medicine containing Cimicifuga for use in the treatment of sarcopenia and myocardial weakness
W0200236140A revealed that the presence of Cimicifuga preparations of urinary incontinence are therapeutically effective.
- Metabolisches Syndrom
Therefore, increased fat tissue in joints appears to belong to the Metabolic Syndrome. This effect can be largely prevented by CR BNO 1005 and its S- but not by its R-fraction. Hence, the saponins in CR BNO 1055 may be useful in preventing the Metabolic Syndrome and osteoarthritis.
– Medicine containing Cimicifuga for use in the treatment of sarcopenia and myocardial weakness
Medicament according to one of the preceding claims wherein the application is selected from metabolic syndrome, hypercholesterolemia, arteriosclerosis, heart attack, type II diabetes, obesity, in particular, android obesity, visceral fat, particularly visceral fat in the joint, in the muscle in the abdominal cavity.
6.1. Bauchfett/Übergewicht
The special extract of Cimicifuga racemosa CR BNO 1055 was shown to reduce the size of the abdominal fat depot

6.2. Diabetes
Antidiabetic effects of the Cimicifuga racemosa extract Ze 450 in vitro and in vivo in ob/ob mice.
In summary, the results demonstrate that Ze 450 reduced significantly body weight, plasma glucose, improved glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity in diabetic ob/ob mice. In vitro experiments suggest that part of the effects may be related to AMPK activation.
- Krebs
7.1. Prostatakrebs
Collectively, these data show for the first time that the anti-proliferative effects of BNO-1055 result from hindered nucleoside uptake due to impaired ENT activity and demonstrate the potential therapeutic use of BNO-1055 for modulation of nucleoside transport.
7.2. Brustkrebs
Treating oestrogen-dependent tumour with Cimicifuga racemosa extract
The effect of the invention of Cimicifuga extract on the proliferation of estrogen-dependent cancer cells, in particular breast cancer cells, is carried out in vitro with a test system of MCF-7 cells.
- Depressionen
Antidepressant-like effects of the extract from Cimicifuga foetida L.
XMT significantly reduced immobility duration in FST and TST without affecting locomotor activity, increased swimming and climbing durations in FST, and enhanced 5-HTP-induced head-twitch response while did not affect yohimbine-induced lethality in female mice. XMT also normalized the inhibition of sucrose intake and decreased the levels of plasma adrenocorticotropic hormone and serum corticosterone and adrenal gland weight in CMS-treated female rats.
- Stress
Treatment with CR significantly attenuated the elevated subjective perception of stress and the increased salivary chromogranin-A levels compared with placebo treatment.
- Arthrose
The fat load in the knee joint correlated inversely with the size of knee cartilage tissue.
The effect of this compound may explain the antiinflammatory activities of CRE and its beneficial actions in rheumatism and other inflammatory diseases.
- Muskelschwäche
Medicine containing Cimicifuga for use in the treatment of sarcopenia and myocardial weakness
Medicines containing Cimicifuga for use in preventing muscle weakness or muscle weakness, especially muscle weakness of striated muscles.
