Moutan, Cortex – MU DAN PI

Dosis: 25g/Tag

  1. Degenerative Krankheiten

1.1. Morbus Alzheimer/Demenz

Paeonol increases levels of cortical cytochrome oxidase and vascular actin and improves behavior in a rat model of Alzheimer’s disease.

Paeonol is a possible therapeutic measure in slowing down the pathogenic processes associated with AD.

Paeonol attenuates microglia-mediated inflammation and oxidative stress-induced neurotoxicity in rat primary microglia and cortical neurons.

Taken together, the present results suggest that paeonol might be a potential neuroprotective agent via inhibiting microglia-mediated inflammation and oxidative stress-induced neuronal damage.

1.2. Diabetes Typ 2

Selected compounds derived from Moutan Cortex stimulated glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis via AMPK activation in human HepG2 cells

These effects may indicate that the activation of AMPK by the active compounds from Moutan Cortex has considerable potential for reversing the metabolic abnormalities associated with type-2 diabetes.

Effect of cortex moutan on PGI2, TXA2, ET and NO in diabetic rats

Paeonol can decrease the ET and TXA2 in diabetic rats, and increase PGI2 in diabetic rats

1.3. Arteriosklerose

Paeonol attenuates high-fat-diet-induced atherosclerosis in rabbits by anti-inflammatory activity

In conclusion, these findings suggest that the anti-inflammatory action of paeonol may contribute to its anti-atherosclerosis effect.

  1. Entzündungen

2.1. Entzündungen allgemein

Anti-inflammatory activity of the methanol extract of moutan cortex in LPS-activated Raw264.7 cells

These results demonstrate that MCE has anti-inflammatory effects through the inhibition of iNOS and COX-2 expression by suppressing the phosphorylation of I-kappa Bal pha and the activation of NF-kappa B.

2.2. Allergien allgemein

Inhibitory effects of Paeonia suffruticosa on allergic reactions by inhibiting the NF-kappaB/I kappaB-alpha signaling pathway and phosphorylation of ERK in an animal model and human mast cells

Our findings therefore suggest that PSA could be promising for anti-allergic inflammation by inhibiting the NF-kappaB/I kappaB-alpha signaling pathway and the phosphorylation of ERK

Inhibitory effects of Moutan cortex on immediate allergic reactions.

In conclusion, Moutan Cortex may be useful for the relief of symptoms of atopic dermatitis and other allergy-related diseases.

2.3. Allergisches Asthma

Paeonol attenuates airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness in a murine model of ovalbumin-induced asthma.

These data suggest that paeonol exhibits anti-inflammatory activity in allergic mice and may possess new therapeutic potential for the treatment of allergic bronchial asthma.

2.4. Colitis

Paeonol attenuates TNBS-induced colitis by inhibiting NF-kappaB and STAT1 transactivation

These findings suggest that Paeonol enema may be useful for the treatment of colitis

2.5. Gingivitis

Moutan Cortex Radicis inhibits inflammatory changes of gene expression in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated gingival fibroblasts.

This study showed that the MCR extract could comprehensively inhibit a wide variety of activations of inflammation-related genes, which may be due to paeonol and paeoniflorin. It is, thus, suggested that MCR may be applied to alleviate the inflammation of periodontal diseases.

  1. Krebs

3.1. Magenkrebs

Ethanol extract of paeonia suffruticosa Andrews (PSE) induced AGS human gastric cancer cell apoptosis via fas-dependent apoptosis and MDM2-p53 pathways.

These results clearly demonstrate that the PSE extact displays growth-suppressive activity and induces apoptosis in AGS cells. Our data suggest that the PSE extact might be a potential anti-cancer agent for gastric cancer.

3.2. Darmkrebs

Antitumor effect of extracts from moutan cortex on DLD-1 human colon cancer cells in vitro

The findings obtained indicate that paeonol and the CTG extracted from moutan cortex have a significant growth-inhibitory effect on human colon cancer cells. This effect may be related to the induction of apoptosis.

3.3. Leberkrebs

Antiproliferative and apoptotic effects of paeonol on human hepatocellular carcinoma cells.

These observations suggest that paeonol has the potential to be explored for use as an effective antitumor agent for HCC.

  1. Vergiftunge

4.1. Lebervergiftung

Protective effects of Moutan Cortex Radicis against acute hepatotoxicity

Our results suggest that MCR has a protective effect on acute liver injury.

4.2. Alkoholische Hepatitis

Paeonol, the main active principles of Paeonia moutan, ameliorates alcoholic steatohepatitis in mice

These findings suggest that paeonol may represent a novel, protective strategy against alcoholic liver injury by attenuating hepatic steatosis, inflammatory response and apoptosis.

  1. Thrombosen

Platelet anti-aggregatory and blood anti-coagulant effects of compounds isolated from Paeonia lactiflora and Paeonia suffruticosa

Paeonol (5), paeoniflorin (9), benzoylpaeoniflorin (11), and benzoyloxypaeoniflorin (12) were found to be the major common active constituents and they would collectively contribute to improving blood circulation through their inhibitory effects on both platelet aggregation and blood coagulation

  1. Schmerzen

Analgesic effect of extracts of Chinese medicinal herbs Moutan cortex and Coicis semen on neuropathic pain in mice

These results suggest that Moutan cortex and Coicis semen contain substances effective in neuropathic pain.
